Quick. Name 10 websites that have been going strong for 12 years?

Yahoo? Yep. Google? Nope. Youtube? Nope. Myspace? Nope. Facebook? Nope. Hotmail? Yep.

The No Clown Zone? You betcha.

2008 marks the 12 year anniversary of this website. The No Clown Zone originally started as my personal homepage at AOL, and in 1999 it moved to this great home at ihateclowns.com.

When I originally started this humble little project, I never would have dreamed that it would grow as much as it has.

In 12 years, this website has had literally millions of visitors from all points of the globe.

I’ve shipped “i hate clowns” t-shirts to teenagers in California, moms in Florida, grandparents in Australia, musicians in the Netherlands…even to clowns in China.

The one unifying theme that almost all of the visitors to The No Clown Zone have in common is the sigh of relief they feel when they realize that they are not alone in their fear (or just plain hatred) of clowns.

When I started this website, I was a young single kid in college…staying up way too late, clickety clicking around on this new internet thing, trying to figure it all out.

Now, 12 years later, I’m a married, stay-at-home dad with 3 wonderful kids, staying up way too late with a newborn, clickety-clicking around on the internet during the daytime as my full time job. Still trying to figure it all out :)

I have no idea where this great site will be 12 years from now…but I thank those of you who have helped me bring the site this far. I’m excited to see where this next journey will take us.
